Space Exploration Technologies Corp., widely known as SpaceX, has officially commenced trading on the Nasdaq, marking what is being described as the largest initial public offering in history.
SpaceX board member Antonio Gracias, in an interview with CNBC on June 12, 2026, the day of the company's IPO, expressed his view that SpaceX stands as "one of the most impactful companies in human history."
Gracias, who is also the founder and managing partner of Valor Equity Partners, stated his intention to hold his SpaceX shares "for as long as possible." The vast majority of the firm's 7% stake in SpaceX is owned by its clients.
When questioned about the potential for a merger between SpaceX and Elon Musk's automotive company, Tesla Inc., Gracias indicated that no decision had been made, noting that such a significant corporate move would be "well above my pay grade."
