Piper Sandler names Microsoft a top idea

After a change in analyst coverage, the firm says shares of Microsoft are best positioned for AI.

“We see Microsoft as perhaps the best pure-play on AI adoption today.”

Wells Fargo upgrades FedEx to overweight from equal weight

Wells upgraded FedEx ahead of investor day next week.

“Ahead of the FEC investor day next week we are upgrading shares to Overweight. We expect the company to outline solid multi-year targets and believe F27 could be a much better year for Express profit, generating solid upside to consensus.”

Baird upgrades Palantir to outperform from neutral

Baird says the company is one of the “clearest AI winners.”

“Yesterday PLTR reported strong Q4 results, marking the tenth consecutive quarter of accelerating total revenue growth (+70% vs. +63% in Q3), driven by U.S. commercial upside.”

JPMorgan upgrades SoFi to overweight from neutral

JPMorgan says the momentum is “undeniable” for SoFi.

“Momentum in the business is undeniable, as SoFi continues to add new members and deposits at a record pace, while other fintechs report deposit outflows or stagnant member growth, and investments in marketing in ’25 and 1H26 set the stage for continued premium customer acquisition and engagement for the foreseeable future.”

Morgan Stanley upgrades Affirm to overweight from equal weight

Morgan Stanley says it sees a compelling entry point.

“We have long been looking for an entry point on Affirm and believe current levels represent a compelling risk-reward, with the stock impacted by growth deceleration and consumer credit concerns that we believe are unlikely to manifest and will likely prove transient.”

Morgan Stanley reiterates Nvidia and Broadcom as overweight

Morgan Stanley says it’s sticking with both stocks.

“We prefer NVDA at the margin - materially lower P/E multiple on the AI component - but we are positive on both at this level, this is not zero sum. ... .We have been somewhat surprised at AVGO’s underperformance YTD after a weak close to 2025, and similar to NVIDIA, one of our biggest FAQs so far this year has been on what the cause of that underperformance is, and how those overhangs can be resolved positively or negatively in 2026.”

Wells Fargo reiterates Disney as a top pick

Wells says Disney is still a top idea following earnings on Monday.

“The F2Q outlook has created concern on Entertainment, but we think guidance is conservative while growth accels in FH2. We see decent scope for a raise next qtr. We remain convicted in our Top Pick thesis w/ valuation upside as the FY comes through.”

UBS reiterates Amazon as buy

UBS says it’s bullish ahead of Amazon earnings later this week.

“We raise our price target modestly to $311 from $310 as we roll forward our valuation parameters by
one quarter, while at the same time ramping both of our AWS revenue and Capital Expenditures estimates.”
