Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Motors, stated on Monday that he would congratulate Amazon founder Jeff Bezos if his commercial spaceflight company Blue Origin reaches the Moon before SpaceX.

Musk responded to a social media post on platform X that compared the competition between SpaceX and Blue Origin to the fable of "The Tortoise and the Hare."

In his reply, Musk said, "I wouldn't mind if they get to the Moon before SpaceX. I'll be among the first to congratulate them."

He added, "However, what truly matters for the future is the ability to transport millions of tons of equipment and people to the Moon and establish a self-sustaining city. In that regard, perhaps we are more like the tortoise than the hare right now."
