CHINA QINFA (00866) saw its shares climb nearly 8% in early trading, with the stock up 5.34% to HK$2.07 at the time of writing, on turnover of HK$9.91 million.

The company recently announced it expects to record a net profit after tax of no more than RMB 290 million for the first half of the year, with profit from continuing operations reaching RMB 31 million. The anticipated growth is primarily attributed to higher average coal sales prices, increased production of raw coal and washed coal, reduced foreign exchange losses, and gains from changes in provisions.

Notably, on August 18, a spokesperson for the Indonesian President stated that the country plans to establish a "minerals and strategic commodities" exchange, which is expected to cover palm oil, nickel, and coal. The Indonesian government is actively preparing to launch the exchange on January 1 next year.

Public data shows that CHINA QINFA operates the largest underground coal mine in Indonesia.
