At the potato planting base of Fuyilong Family Planting Farm in Nancha Village, Tianchidian Township, machines roar and the autumn harvest is in full swing. As the potato harvester moves slowly through the field, plump, brightly colored potatoes emerge from the soil and lie neatly across the ridges. Farmers work in coordinated teams, sorting and bagging, then transferring and loading the crops, creating a busy, orderly, and abundantly fruitful harvest scene across the fields.

In recent years, Tianchidian Township has continued to optimize its agricultural planting structure, vigorously promote high-quality improved seeds, and help agriculture improve quality and efficiency. In 2025, Fuyilong Family Farm cooperated with a professional seed industry enterprise to introduce the excellent potato varieties "Jingzhangshu No. 1" and "Jingzhangshu No. 3." The new varieties have strong adaptability and good stress resistance, perfectly matching the local soil, water, and climate conditions. After scientific management, they showed excellent overall growth and remarkable high-yield results, with the average yield per mu exceeding 4,000 jin. This series of potatoes has a regular shape, smooth skin, a floury and soft texture, and a high marketable rate, and its quality is widely recognized and praised by the market.

Quality improvement relies on standardized planting, while brand empowerment consolidates the foundation for development. The farm strictly follows green agricultural product production standards, implementing standardized production requirements throughout the entire process, from seed selection and fertilization to field management and pest and disease control, and carefully controlling every stage of cultivation. Relying on its standardized and green planting model, the farm's potatoes successfully passed qualification review and obtained green food certification, effectively enhancing the added value and market competitiveness of agricultural products and laying a solid foundation for expanding sales channels and building a local specialty agricultural product brand.

Mechanized harvesting speeds up and improves the efficiency of the autumn harvest, while supporting storage facilities improve the industrial chain. During this year's autumn harvest, the farm fully adopted mechanized operations, equipped with 10 pieces of agricultural machinery and equipment of various types, including seeders, harvesters, and tractors. The comprehensive mechanization rate for cultivation, planting, and harvesting reached more than 95%, completely changing the problems of low efficiency and high cost associated with traditional manual harvesting and greatly improving autumn harvest efficiency. At the same time, the farm built a 1,300-cubic-meter agricultural product storage and preservation warehouse capable of storing 750 tons of potatoes, effectively solving the problems of unsalable products and preservation difficulties caused by concentrated market supply, achieving off-peak sales and preserving and increasing income, and truly turning a "good harvest" into "good returns."

Industrial harvest drives increased income for the people, and industrial development activates rural vitality. Relying on its large-scale planting base, the farm gives priority to absorbing local surplus labor for nearby employment. At present, it has driven 32 villagers into stable employment, including 14 households lifted out of poverty, with workers increasing their annual per capita income by 4,500 yuan. At the same time, through the land transfer model, it has indirectly driven more than 40 surrounding households to increase income, paying more than 80,000 yuan in land transfer fees each year, allowing villagers to achieve employment, income growth, and prosperity through learning skills at their doorstep.

Small potatoes have become the "prosperity potato" of rural revitalization. Tianchidian Township will continue to deeply cultivate the specialty planting industry, continuously promote improved seeds and methods, improve infrastructure, extend the industrial chain, and keep strengthening the green, high-quality agricultural product industry. It will use the quality and efficiency improvement of specialty industries to drive stable income growth for the people and continue to inject strong momentum into the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
