Drone Food Delivery in Shenzhen: A Breakthrough in Speed

In Shenzhen, drones are now being used for food delivery, leveraging real-world 3D mapping technology. This system converts city buildings, obstacles, and other structures into centimeter-level 3D digital models based on their actual coordinates, shapes, and heights.

This technology serves as an essential "3D navigation map" and "digital sandbox" for drones, enabling safe and efficient flight in complex urban environments. The average delivery time has been reduced from nearly 30 minutes to around 12 minutes, marking an efficiency improvement of nearly 150%.

The system also handles special scenarios with ease, such as public parks and other open spaces, where it can precisely locate delivery points and ensure accurate deliveries.
