Oct 31

On October 31, financial authorities disclosed that the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) was fined 27.2 million yuan by the National Financial Regulatory Administration for violations including non-compliant product sales, improper service charges, and inadequate management of credit fund flows.

In response, ABC stated that the penalty followed an earlier on-site inspection by regulators, primarily targeting pre-2023 operations. The bank emphasized its serious approach to the identified issues, implementing immediate corrective actions for most problems upon inspection completion under the principle of "addressing both symptoms and root causes." The bank confirmed that other systemic rectifications have now been largely completed.
