This year's Meta Connect conference is scheduled to take place from September 17-18. According to Meta's CTO, the company is expected to unveil Celeste smart glasses with display capabilities, third-generation RayBan-Meta glasses, and sports-oriented Oakley glasses at the event. The conference may also showcase brand-new "metaverse software," redefining AI glasses from hardware, interaction, and software perspectives.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest forecast, Meta's upcoming AI glasses Hypernova is expected to enter mass production in Q3 2025, with a two-year product lifecycle and projected shipments of approximately 150,000-200,000 units over the next two years. Kuo noted that AI will be Hypernova's most important selling point. Currently, the exploration of applications integrating AI and AR remains in early stages, combined with its high price point of around $800, which may be the primary reason for Meta's conservative outlook on Hypernova shipment volumes.

Huatai Securities pointed out that beyond Meta, domestic companies including Xiaomi, Rokid, Raybird, and Xreal have successively launched AI/AR glasses since the beginning of the year. International tech giants like Google, Samsung, Apple, and Amazon have also gradually clarified their hardware and software plans for AI/AR glasses. The firm remains optimistic about the long-term potential of glasses as an Always-on interaction portal amid improving AI model capabilities, while suggesting attention to short-term catalysts from recent flagship product launches across the industry chain.

China Merchants Securities International published a research report expressing continued bullishness on the thriving development of the AI glasses industry. The firm believes that Ray-Ban Meta glasses' robust growth of over 200% in the first half, Xiaomi's AI glasses shipment target of 500,000 units, diverse product pipelines from various brands, and continuously expanding ecosystems with artificial intelligence features and application scenarios will pave the way for supply chain growth in the second half of this year.
