Stellantis and CATL Launch €4.1 Billion Battery Plant in Spain

Stellantis, the manufacturer of Peugeot and Jeep, along with CATL, has begun construction on a €4.1 billion battery plant in northern Spain.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez praised the investment. "We are building the best investment model in Spain and across Europe," said Spanish Industry Minister Jordi Hereu on Wednesday after a photo session with company executives. He described the future plant in Figueras as "Spain's best contribution to Europe's reindustrialization."
Andy Wu, the project leader, mentioned that subcontractor selection is still underway, with the goal of "hiring excellent local talent."
