Recently, the Shandong Provincial Intellectual Property Development Center announced the 2026 Provincial Patent Navigation Project list, confirming 56 projects. Among them, one industrial planning patent navigation project and six enterprise operation patent navigation projects from Qingdao were successfully selected, highlighting the strong momentum of regional innovation development. The "Shandong Modern Medicine (Biomedical Direction)" project, undertaken by Qingdao Guoxin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., is the only medical industry patent navigation project selected in the province. This project will deeply explore the value of global patent data, analyze the evolution and competitive landscape of biomedical technology, focus on the unique advantages of marine biomedicine, track high-value patent clusters and the R&D strategies of leading institutions, tap into the potential of the "Blue Drug Library," and precisely align with the development goals and innovation resource gaps of the biomedical industry in Qingdao and Shandong, charting an innovative path for high-quality industrial development. Companies such as Haier, Hisense, Impulse, and Guohua (Qingdao) Intelligent Equipment are focusing on emerging sectors like high-end equipment manufacturing, embodied intelligence, and smart IoT. By implementing micro-navigation for key core technology breakthroughs, they are creating clear patent technology development roadmaps. This helps enterprises clarify their position, strengths, and weaknesses within the industrial chain, technology chain, and innovation chain. Building on advanced industry experience and aligning with their own development and market demands, they plan technological innovation routes, engage in differentiated original and re-innovation, accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies, and advance to the industry forefront. Patent navigation acts as a precise "innovation compass," providing global technology and talent information support for industrial development and enterprise innovation, serving as a key tool for enhancing core market competitiveness. To enable more innovators to tap into the "gold mine" of innovation through patent navigation, the city continues to promote enterprise and industry patent navigation projects, strengthening policy incentives and guidance, and collaborating with professional institutions to offer precise counseling for enterprises. Qingdao High-Tech Industrial Park was selected as one of the first national patent navigation service bases, and Qingdao Zhongtian Zhicheng Technology Service Platform Co., Ltd. was recognized as one of the first provincial patent navigation service bases. Over the past three years, the city has implemented more than 40 patent navigation projects, leading enterprises to unearth, strategically position, and add over 8,000 valid invention patents, an increase of more than 60%, effectively promoting industrial upgrading and enhancing the quality of enterprise innovation. By the end of 2025, Qingdao's valid invention patents reached 95,600, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%. The number of valid invention patents per 10,000 people was 92.18, the total number of valid trademark registrations was 579,000, and the annual number of PCT international patent applications was 859. All indicators ranked first in the province, solidifying the intellectual property foundation for regional innovation development.
