11 New Professions and 23 New Job Roles Officially Announced, Highlighting Digital and Green Sectors

On September 9th, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, along with other departments, publicly released 11 new professions, including ship shore-based management engineering technicians, embodied intelligent robot application technicians, and sports data analysts. Alongside these, 23 new job roles were also introduced, such as community workers, low-altitude logistics personnel, and aging-friendly renovation designers. Additionally, information for 6 existing professions, like agricultural product brokers, has been adjusted or updated.

Among the newly announced professions, there are 5 digital occupations and 3 green occupations. With this latest release, the total number of officially recognized digital and green occupations in China has reached 113 and 142, respectively.

In the modern services sector, the new professions and roles cater to both corporate development and industrial upgrading, including positions like sustainable development planners, airport clearance inspectors, and intelligent agent developers. Simultaneously, they also address the public's needs for a better quality of life, with roles such as incense-making artisans, smart furniture installers, and fresh-cut flower processors.

Since 2019, China has cumulatively published 121 new professions across 8 batches, reflecting the nation's evolving economic landscape and workforce demands.
