On the afternoon of September 25th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference in the series "High-Quality Completion of the '14th Five-Year Plan'", introducing the achievements of high-quality development in broadcasting, television, and online audiovisual services during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

Cao Shumin, Deputy Minister of the Central Publicity Department and Director of the National Radio and Television Administration, announced that significant progress has been made in addressing TV "matryoshka doll" charging and complex operation issues. After more than two years of efforts, they have basically achieved direct broadcast viewing upon startup, cancelled set-top box startup advertisements, significantly reduced charging packages, and increased the supply of high-quality free content.

Building on this foundation, they are continuing to advance according to the principle of "consolidating, deepening, expanding, and enhancing," gradually achieving "integration of televisions and set-top boxes" and "one remote control to watch TV" to completely resolve the problems of "difficult and annoying TV viewing."

The administration is strengthening user rights protection and resolutely addressing issues that have drawn strong public complaints, including false medical advertising in broadcasting and television, and "automatic renewal" practices. They are implementing a series of broadcasting, television, and audiovisual public service projects to benefit the people, promoting more high-quality resources to reach grassroots communities directly.
