在白宫考虑一项可能限制被动指数基金经理参与股东投票的行政命令时，贝莱德首席执行官劳瑞·芬克警告说，这可能会带来意想不到的后果。
芬克在纽约时报Dealbook峰会上表示，限制指数基金经理参与股东投票将增加外国投资者和激进投资者对美国公司的影响力。
芬克提到，几乎每位与贝莱德接触的首席执行官都对这一结果感到害怕。“我可以告诉你，如果指数基金投资者持有30%到40%的股份，而你把它排除掉，这将导致非常倾斜的结果。外国投资者和激进投资者将拥有更大的权力。”
作为全球最大的投资管理公司，贝莱德在过去一年中，与管理层的投票一致率超过98%，芬克补充道。
一些批评者表示，美国庞大的指数基金经理的增长使得少数投资公司对上市公司拥有过大的权力。指数基金经理通常依据受托责任代表客户投票，但近年来他们也推出了一些程序，让客户选择投票方式。
《华尔街日报》上个月报道，白宫正在考虑一项行政命令，可能会通过多种方式限制指数基金经理的投票权。
