Analysts from Nomura, Eon Hwang and YJ Kim, have indicated that LG Display's second-quarter losses may surpass market expectations, primarily due to one-time costs associated with business restructuring.
The analysts project that the South Korean flat-panel display manufacturer will report an operating loss of approximately 960 billion won for the April-June period, which contrasts with the market consensus anticipating a loss of around 550 billion won.
They noted that, excluding these one-time costs, the company's core operations likely showed signs of improvement.
Furthermore, they added that sales of Universal Display (OLED) television panels in the second quarter may have increased by 9.7% year-over-year, driven by the FIFA World Cup, while shipments of its OLED monitors potentially surged by 86%.
