Hotels Turn to Long-Term Rentals to Pursue New Growth Opportunities

Following the launch of a "travel stay" channel by Huazhu with a large number of monthly rental listings, Jinjiang Hotels (China) has now introduced "Lingju Apartments" to target long-term rental demand, according to recent reports. In recent years, major domestic hotel groups have been aggressively entering the long-term rental apartment market, while international brands such as Marriott, Accor, and Hyatt are also accelerating their participation.

Industry insiders suggest that with pressure on growth in the core hotel business, the long-term rental apartment track has become a strategic choice for exploring new growth points. However, this market is already highly competitive, and the entry of hotel brands will intensify the rivalry. Other analysts believe that hotel groups can leverage their well-established standardized services and operational processes to capture market share when entering the long-term rental sector.
