国家银行资本市场提出重启TC能源主干线2号管道的方案，旨在恢复向安大略省和魁北克省的天然气供应。目前，TC能源正评估市场支持度与技术可行性，计划将其日均输送能力约60亿立方英尺的主干线扩展至加拿大东部市场。国家银行分析师指出，2号管线自2013年停运至今，若以相对有限的资本投入（包括在安大略省增设压缩站或环形管线）使其恢复运营，可新增日均超8亿立方英尺的输送能力。
这一天然气供应量足以支持约5吉瓦新型联合循环发电能力的建设，相当于安大略省峰值电力需求的20%。该方案亦与渥太华的国防工业战略相契合，有望构建更强大的东西向能源走廊。
