China Coal Energy Company Limited (01898) disclosed its major productive and operational data for January 2026, highlighting notable year-on-year changes in both coal and coal chemical operations.
Commercial coal production volume stood at 10.29 million tonnes, representing a 10.4% decrease compared to January 2025. Total commercial coal sales volume decreased by 7.3%, while sales of self-produced commercial coal edged up by 1.7%.
In coal chemical operations, polyethylene production volume slipped 1.5% year on year, but its sales volume posted a substantial 41.7% increase. Polypropylene production remained largely stable, and its sales volume rose by 3.4%. Urea production rose 2.8%, while sales dropped 3.4%. Methanol production gained 2.8%, with sales dipping 0.5%. In contrast, ammonium nitrate production jumped 27.9% year on year, and its sales grew 24.4%.
Meanwhile, the production value of coal mining equipment registered a 7.2% decline compared to the same period last year.
The company cautioned that monthly operational figures could be affected by factors such as macroeconomic policy shifts, market fluctuations, and mine-specific conditions.
