Data released by the General Administration of Customs on September 8 shows that in August, China's total foreign trade value reached $683.8 billion in US dollar terms, marking a 26.3% year-on-year increase.

Exports totaled $401.4 billion, up 25.0% from the same period last year, while imports reached $282.4 billion, rising 28.2%. The trade surplus for the month stood at $119.1 billion.

Analysts point out that the accelerated growth in both imports and exports was notably supported by the expanding artificial intelligence industry, which has driven demand for related equipment and components both domestically and internationally.
