AI-Generated Pro-Trump Profiles Proliferate on Social Media, Raising Deepfake Concerns

A recent surge involving hundreds of fake pro-Trump accounts has flooded major social media platforms. These accounts utilize artificially generated, highly realistic profile pictures to post content supporting Donald Trump, amassing significant followings in the process. Analysts suggest this represents a new strategy leveraging AI technology to manipulate public opinion and generate profit through traffic redirection.

The majority of these accounts present themselves using "attractive female" personas. A prominent example is an influencer account named "Jessica Foster." This account, active since December 2025, gained rapid popularity by posting images of a woman in military uniform, pictured alongside Trump or near fighter jets, accumulating over a million followers within just four months. However, investigations revealed no record of this individual serving in the U.S. military, and the photos contained numerous inconsistencies such as confused rank insignia and misspelled names, ultimately confirming the persona was an AI-generated fabrication. Notably, while Iran prohibits women from serving in combat roles, a significant number of AI-generated videos featuring "Iranian female soldiers" have recently appeared online, indicating that the tactic of using AI to create military or political personas shows transnational similarities.

Investigations found that the actual purpose of such accounts is to attract followers through a patriotic persona and then redirect this traffic to paid subscription platforms for monetization. Experts point out that AI technology makes it exceptionally easy to create consistent fake characters and place them within the context of real political events, making them appear as if they are at the center of power.

This strategy has raised serious security concerns. Some scholars warn that the greatest risk is that this "lure" tactic could evolve into information warfare. Anonymously operated accounts, if used as a "bot army," could disseminate propaganda or disinformation on a massive scale. Currently, as the cost of AI-driven forgery decreases, the ability to discern the authenticity of such highly attention-grabbing online content has become a necessary societal skill.
