Prudential plc cuts share count after latest buybacks

Prudential plc reported further changes to its share capital on Mar, 4 2026.

The company cancelled 470,767 ordinary shares that had been repurchased on Mar, 2 2026, reducing its outstanding share count to 2,534,805,133.

On Mar, 4 2026, Prudential plc also bought back 364,056 ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange for an aggregate consideration of about 6.7 million Singapore dollars, paying between GBP 10.625 and GBP 10.965 per share. These shares are earmarked for cancellation.

Including purchases made on Mar, 3–4 2026 that are still awaiting cancellation, 824,505 shares remain in the pipeline to be retired. Since the repurchase mandate was approved on May, 14 2025, the company has acquired 72,460,865 shares, using 2.78 % of the authority granted.

Under listing rules, Prudential plc is restricted from issuing new shares until Apr, 3 2026.
