Insilico Medicine Shares Surge Nearly 8% as AI Drug Discovery Sector Continues to Heat Up, Company's BD and PCC Output Hit Record Highs

Insilico Medicine (03696) rose nearly 8%, up 7.85% as of press time to HK$59.75, with turnover of HK$363 million.

On the news front, as of the latest data, Insilico Medicine has disclosed a total contract value of approximately US$7.3 billion in signed partnerships during 2026, with cumulative outbound licensing transaction value reaching US$11 billion. In terms of AI-driven R&D, Insilico Medicine nominated 9 preclinical candidate compounds (PCCs) in the first 9 months of this year, setting a historic record for the company's annual pipeline output.

CLSA believes that the company's business development momentum remains strong, and the China Phase III clinical trial of its AI-driven innovative drug candidate Rentosertib represents the next major clinical validation point.

It is worth noting that multinational giants have recently intensified their investments in AI drug discovery, further heating up the sector. Roche disclosed during an investor event that it will advance the construction of its autonomous artificial intelligence laboratory to accelerate new drug discovery. Previously, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly also successively disclosed progress in wet lab collaborations.

Citi pointed out that Insilico Medicine remains the bank's top pick in the AI drug discovery (AIDD) sub-sector.
