不过，Raymond James分析师Patrick Tyler Brown和David Hicks表示，这并不意味着铁路行业的并购传奇就此结束。CSX运输和BNSF仍可能进一步深化商业合作关系，同时两家公司都必须决定是否正式反对Union Pacific和Norfolk Southern之间的拟议交易，这可能对该交易的命运产生重大影响。
Brown和Hicks表示："我们相信，未来几个月仍会有大量的'并购戏码'上演。"
