National Pilot Project on Innovative Integration for Major Chronic Disease Prevention Concludes Successfully in Shanghai

The "High-Quality Workplace Health Management Pilot Initiative (Shanghai) Promotion Conference," part of the National Pilot Project on Innovative Integration for Major Chronic Disease Prevention, concluded successfully in Shanghai on October 29, 2025. Co-hosted by the project's management committee and the workplace health initiative working committee, the event aimed to advance the implementation of high-quality workplace health management in Shanghai.

The conference emphasized enhancing workplace health services to help enterprises foster a health-conscious culture, improve employee well-being, and create replicable models supporting China's national health strategy. Attendees included prominent experts such as Prof. Wang Zhanshan, Secretary-General of the project committee; Prof. Luo Li from Fudan University; Prof. Bai Yonghai from Changzheng Hospital; and representatives from leading hospitals, academic institutions, and corporations, including PA GOODDOCTOR (01833) and Ping An Insurance (02318).

Key highlights: 1. **Leadership Address**: Prof. Luo Li stressed the shift from reactive healthcare to proactive workplace-based chronic disease prevention, leveraging digital tools and personalized interventions. 2. **Pilot Plan Overview**: Prof. Wang Zhanshan outlined the initiative’s preventive focus, urging businesses to integrate health management into corporate strategy. 3. **Implementation Framework**: Director Xu Ye detailed a four-tier system combining offline services and digital platforms for scalable health solutions. 4. **Case Study**: China Railway Shanghai Group’s Nanjing East Depot shared success in reducing hypertension/diabetes rates by 3.4% since 2021 through smart health monitoring. 5. **Corporate Insights**: Ping An’s Huang Ji discussed its enterprise health plan, now serving 4,500+ companies, emphasizing standardized, collaborative approaches.

The event concluded with a Q&A session and closing remarks by Prof. Bai Yonghai, who highlighted Shanghai’s pioneering role. Participants were invited to a December summit in Beijing to further exchange best practices.
