At the 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Charles Zhang, founder, chairman, and CEO of Sohu.com, shared his perspectives on learning and the evolving perception of being an "influencer."

When asked why he identifies as a "physics influencer," Zhang remarked that the term "influencer" carries mixed connotations. Initially associated with livestreaming performers who exaggerated their appearances for attention, the label often carried a negative tone. However, with the widespread adoption of livestreaming today, Zhang believes the term deserves reevaluation. "In English, 'influencer' simply means someone with a substantial following and influence," he said. "So, unapologetically, I call myself a physics influencer."

Zhang also highlighted his highly efficient learning approach over the past few years, which enabled him to delve deeply into university-level and biophysics. He advocates for a research-driven learning method that emphasizes minimal passive reading and more active engagement. "The key is to read less, derive more, and think critically. Additionally, discussing and interacting with others significantly enhances learning efficiency," he explained.

The interview was conducted during the summit, offering insights into Zhang's unconventional yet effective strategies for knowledge acquisition.
