GEELY AUTO Responds to Basic Traffic Benefits Changes

On August 20, addressing user concerns regarding "basic traffic" benefits for GEELY AUTO vehicle models, the company officially issued a statement on its Weibo account to clarify related issues:

1. Regarding User Benefits Continuity GEELY AUTO has launched intelligent connected vehicle models in different periods, with varying user benefit packages due to differences in market positioning, pricing, and configurations. However, it must be clarified that the benefits promised to users at the time of sale, including E-CALL, remain consistent and will not be changed or reduced.

2. Regarding Specific Content of "Basic Traffic" There have been inconsistencies in communicating the benefit information included in "basic traffic" previously. To eliminate user misunderstandings and confusion, the company now provides unified clarification: "Basic traffic" benefits typically cover vehicle remote control, online navigation, voice assistant, weather inquiry, OTA upgrades, and other functions. The specific functions included should be based on the actual configuration of your purchased vehicle model.

Previously, some users reported that the basic traffic for Boyue L was changed to only include lifetime free app control, while other functions such as OTA, voice control, emergency rescue, and map navigation were all reclassified as entertainment traffic. Users questioned whether this constituted a betrayal of 2023-2024 model owners.

Other users indicated that when purchasing vehicles in 2024, promotional materials promised lifetime free basic traffic, including voice control, remote control, built-in navigation, OTA upgrades, and other functions. Official responses confirmed this until early this year. Now, basic traffic benefits only include remote control, with GEELY AUTO responding that "vehicle system traffic is divided into basic traffic and entertainment traffic, where basic traffic only includes remote control, and all others are entertainment traffic." Therefore, users hope GEELY AUTO will honor its commitments and restore original benefits for car owners, rather than eliminating existing owner rights in order to unify benefits for new vehicle models.
