CHINA UNICOM Successfully Completes Parade Communication Support with 5G-A and 5G+Beidou Technologies

On September 3rd, the commemoration ceremony for the 80th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was grandly held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. CHINA UNICOM officially announced that as the leading telecommunications operator in the capital, the company successfully completed communication support for the event.

According to reports, CHINA UNICOM's Beijing branch organized and completed five rounds of network clearing and troubleshooting across the entire network and key areas. The company inspected 110 sets of core equipment, 580 aggregation nodes, 30 upstream offices, 8,767 base stations, and 320,000 kilometers of optical cables, comprehensively identifying and eliminating various risk factors.

The company deployed advanced technologies including 5G-A, 5G slicing, independent carriers, low-latency networks, 5G dedicated networks, and cell merging to meet the three major video transmission requirements of high bandwidth, low latency, and stable transmission. CHINA UNICOM provided high-quality image transmission services for China Central Television, Xinhua News Agency, and Beijing Television. A 60-person image support team successfully completed 36 hours of on-site duty, ensuring timely and stable news transmission for the commemoration ceremony. The company also provided 10 dedicated internet lines and 250 network information points for the Media Center, establishing comprehensive network coverage to provide quality communication services for various news media outlets.

Incorporating advanced technologies such as 5G-A, AI, and 5G+Beidou, CHINA UNICOM deployed 8 temporary small cells and 4 emergency communication vehicles at Tiananmen Square, significantly improving on-site mobile network communication quality. At core areas including the Great Hall of the People and over 50 locations along the route, the company deployed 239 video channels, implementing comprehensive support through "full coverage + full frequency band + full scenario + 5G-A + AI."

Leveraging wireless AI capability deployment, the company achieved intelligent, dynamic, and adaptive network operations, configured high-density and high-load AI models to ensure maximum service and optimal experience for public users. By the end of the support mission, CHINA UNICOM deployed a total of 22,500 support personnel, 5,600 support vehicles, and 3,300 network management duty personnel across the entire network. All network levels operated smoothly without major network failures. CHINA UNICOM's Beijing branch, serving as a crucial support force for the commemoration ceremony, deployed 2,767 support personnel, 212 support vehicles, 67 sets of emergency communication equipment, and activated 4,811 various business services.
