SanDisk has officially launched its PC SN5100S solid-state drive this month, a product previously mentioned during the company's February 2025 investor day presentation. This client-grade (OEM consumer-level) SSD is built on BiCS8 QLC NAND flash memory technology.
The PC SN5100S is available in both M.2 2280 and M.2 2230 form factors, offering three capacity options: 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The drive utilizes a PCIe Gen 4.0 × 4 interface and complies with NVMe 2.0d specifications.
Supported by SanDisk's nCache caching technology, the PC SN5100S can achieve sequential read speeds of up to 7,300MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,700MB/s, with an endurance rating of 300TBW per TB. The detailed specifications are as follows:
SanDisk PC SN5100S | 512GB | 1TB | 2TB ---|---|---|--- Maximum Sequential Read (MB/s) | 6,600 | 7,300 | 7,300 Maximum Sequential Write (MB/s) | 5,600 | 6,700 | 6,700 Maximum Random Read (IOPS) | 660K | 1,100K | 1,200K Maximum Random Write (IOPS) | - | 1,300K | 1,400K Warranty Period (Years) | 5 | 5 | 5 Endurance Rating (TBW) | 150 | 300 | 600
Despite differences in specific capacity configurations, the 512GB version of the PC SN5100S shares the same maximum sequential read speed of 6,600MB/s as the previously disclosed WD Blue SN5100.
