From December 27th to 28th, the 2025 Huawei Developer Competition and Developer Annual Conference, themed "Empowering Pioneer Developers in the AI-Native Era," was held at the Shanghai Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center. This conference aimed to gather pioneering developer forces and build an open, win-win ecosystem platform. Through diverse activities including the Developer Competition finals, CEO roundtables, keynote forum presentations, technical speeches in sub-forums, and developer exhibition zones & CodeLabs, it sought to promote the practical application of cutting-edge technologies such as cloud development toolchains, agent development, and embodied intelligence, helping developers bridge the gap from technical exploration to value creation.

During the CEO roundtable session, Huawei Senior Vice President and Huawei Cloud CEO Zhou Yuefeng engaged in face-to-face discussions with pioneer developers, sharing insights and offering guidance for their growth. He emphasized that the core positioning of Huawei Cloud is to "empower industry AI with fertile black soil." Huawei Cloud aims to collaborate with developers on this "black soil" to jointly build a "Dream Factory" for industry AI. By constructing various vertical domain development communities and opening up Huawei's long-accumulated technical capabilities, toolchains, and industry practical experience in fields like healthcare, autonomous driving, and embodied intelligence, Huawei Cloud provides developers with a solid and fertile ground for innovation, empowering them to achieve industry AI implementation. In this ecosystem, the wisdom of every developer can take root and grow, working with Huawei Cloud to open the doors to industry AI.

Huawei Cloud Computing Ecosystem Department President Kang Xiaoyu shared the latest progress and core achievements in Huawei Cloud's ecosystem development, clearly outlining three future strategic focus directions to co-create the intelligent era with global developers. The first is "Building the Foundation," which involves continuously strengthening the computing power base and promoting deep synergy between root technologies like Kunpeng, Ascend, and HarmonyOS with the cloud, providing more powerful computing support for hundreds of models and thousands of scenarios. The second is "Empowerment," which focuses on building a panoramic developer growth system. Through the Developer Academy, sandbox experiments, and the new Developer Experience Officer program, it aims to help every developer enhance their skills, expand boundaries, and become pioneers who master AI and lead change. The third is "Co-creation," which entails working hand-in-hand to build a sustainable and mutually prosperous ecosystem, continuing to walk alongside global developers, jointly assisting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoting the digital leap across various industries.

Huawei Cloud Developer Support and Operations Department Head Lin Huading delivered a keynote speech titled "Empowering Industry AI Pioneers, Winning with Developers." He stated that to better serve developers, Huawei Cloud is continuously increasing investment in tools, product capabilities, and other aspects; the newly released Huawei Developer Space Ascend Cloud development environment comes pre-installed with the CANN toolchain required for operator development, enabling out-of-the-box use; a HarmonyOS cloud phone development environment was released to support the development and debugging of HarmonyOS applications; an enterprise-exclusive AI Academy was launched to help companies better empower internally and externally; furthermore, Huawei Cloud remains deeply committed to the developer experience and sincerely invites developers to join the Experience Officer program to jointly build a better experience.

This year's competition featured two main tracks: "Application Innovation" and "Algorithm," with the domestic Application Innovation track alone receiving 1,398 submissions. After multiple rounds of evaluation, 36 outstanding teams stood out and advanced to the finals. Their solutions covered over ten fields, including fintech, smart transportation, urban governance, germplasm improvement, dairy safety, low-altitude economy, education innovation, and environmental monitoring, fully demonstrating the broad prospects of deep integration between AI technology and countless industries.

At the awards ceremony, Huawei presented a total of 86 exclusive awards to outstanding developers, recognizing both technological innovation and ecosystem contributions. The awards comprehensively covered the four core tracks of the Huawei Developer Competition finals—Enterprise, Student, Industry, and Algorithm—as well as key ecosystem areas such as university-industry cooperation, developer communities, developer spaces, HCDE, and HCDG. The outstanding achievements of these award winners in AI application implementation, tackling industry challenges, and technology evangelism not only prove their technical prowess but also reflect Huawei's high recognition of developers' innovative practices.

At the conference, outstanding developers from various fields shared their innovative practices based on Huawei's technologies. Yao Shengwei, Software R&D Lead Engineer at the Digital Intelligence Center of China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., focusing on common pain points in corporate R&D like computing power shortages and efficiency bottlenecks, shared his team's practical experience. Leveraging the root technologies and ecosystem support of the Huawei Developer Space, they successfully incubated an AI large model application from scratch and achieved multi-scenario replication and deployment, providing a referenceable path for ecosystem collaboration in industry digital transformation. Zhang Xiaoxing, General Manager of Shenzhen Wuce Spatial Information Co., Ltd., introduced the innovative application of the "Zhenfei UAV Low-Altitude AI Hub Platform" in urban governance. This platform deeply integrates Huawei Cloud AI algorithms and big data analytics capabilities, effectively breaking down data silos and significantly improving recognition accuracy and event handling closed-loop efficiency. It has been successfully applied in hundreds of inspection scenarios, including fire emergency response, natural resource monitoring, water utilities, transportation, and engineering construction, becoming an industry benchmark for comprehensive low-altitude UAV services. This project also won the gold award in the Enterprise track of this year's developer competition. Zhang Bin, an outstanding participant from the Huawei Algorithm Challenge, addressed the challenges of converting algorithm models into product delivery. Using cases like 5G network slice scheduling, he shared key ideas and practical experience for engineering migration under complex constraints through ROI analysis and robustness optimization. Zhang Cheng, an outstanding participant from the 2025 China Youth 'Tackling Key Problems' Challenge · Huawei Track from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, introduced the Ascend-Harmony integrated AI acceleration engine. This engine achieves seamless integration between the Ascend and Harmony ecosystems through "one solution + two models + three systems," empowering industry applications.
