The "Logistics Technology Expo 2025," hosted by the Hong Kong Productivity Council and funded by the "Logistics Promotion Subsidy Scheme" under the "Maritime and Aviation Training Fund" of the Transport and Logistics Bureau, was held today. The event attracted over 1,000 participants, representing more than double the attendance compared to last year. Over 60 exhibitors showcased cutting-edge logistics technologies including smart logistics, green supply chains, and digital solutions, reflecting the industry's urgent demand for technology applications and innovative transformation.

The expo actively responds to and aligns with the policy directions of the 2025 Policy Address, fully supporting the SAR Government's initiatives to consolidate Hong Kong's position as an international shipping center. These initiatives include building digital port systems, establishing green marine fuel bunkering centers, maximizing advantages in high value-added maritime services, and supporting the development of modern logistics industry.

The expo focuses on exploring five key areas for promoting high-quality development of Hong Kong's logistics industry: new productive forces, low-altitude economy, ESG and sustainable development, transport and logistics, and smart supply chain management. These areas closely align with policy directions mentioned in the Policy Address, such as promoting port greening and digitalization and establishing modern logistics circles, providing the industry with specific technical pathways and solutions for policy implementation.

In his opening remarks, Zhang Zichang, Chief Technology Officer of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, stated that this year's Policy Address emphasizes leveraging Hong Kong's international advantages to help enterprises expand into international markets. More and more mainland enterprises are actively expanding into "Belt and Road" and Global South markets, with Hong Kong's logistics industry not only serving as a crucial bridge but also being an important force driving high-quality transformation.

Zhang noted that the Hong Kong Productivity Council established "The Cradle Go Global Service Center" this year specifically to assist local and mainland enterprises in more effectively developing overseas markets, creating high-quality development opportunities for the logistics industry. Facing the dual requirements of efficiency and sustainable development in the future transport and logistics industry, he believes the industry can explore innovative technology solutions and seize upgrade and transformation opportunities at this year's expo, preparing for overseas market expansion.

Cai Jieming, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics, remarked that today's "Logistics Technology Expo 2025" serves as an important platform for advancing Hong Kong's logistics industry toward the "smart" development direction outlined in the "Modern Logistics Development Action Plan." The expo not only allows the industry to understand the latest logistics technology solutions and discuss development trends and applications of smart logistics, but also creates high synergy with the government's modern logistics development policies, enabling the industry to better grasp relevant policy directions and utilize various resources and support provided by the government.

"Logistics Technology Expo 2025" establishes a leading innovative technology showcase platform for the logistics and transport industry, actively promoting the industry's transformation toward intelligence and green development. The Hong Kong Productivity Council will continue to collaborate with the industry, supporting enterprises in fully utilizing innovative resources and policy support to enhance competitiveness, working together to build Hong Kong into a sustainable international smart logistics hub.
