Paper industry stocks rose in early trading. As of press time, LEE & MAN PAPER (02314) surged 5.17% to HK$3.05; ND PAPER (02689) climbed 4.63% to HK$5.88; CHENMING PAPER (01812) gained 4.6% to HK$0.91.
On the news front, major paper manufacturers including ND PAPER, Shanying International, LEE & MAN PAPER, and Wuzhou Special Paper recently issued price increase notices, announcing upward adjustments to some product prices in early September. Notably, domestic paper mills have generally implemented multiple rounds of price increases since August.
Industrial Securities believes that as the fourth quarter enters the traditional peak season, both pulp and paper prices are expected to continue rising. Combined with anti-involution policy support, the industry may welcome an upward cycle. Huaan Securities previously pointed out that under the national "anti-involution" backdrop, similar to supply-side structural reforms, this is expected to drive the exit of backward capacity in the packaging paper industry, achieving supply-demand balance, boosting paper prices, and improving paper companies' profitability.
