Gen-Z Couple's 145-Day Hotel Stay Leaves Room in Shocking State After Cleaning Ban

A hotel in Jianyang, Chengdu, Sichuan, was left dealing with a nightmarish cleanup after a young couple turned their guest room into a veritable garbage dump during an extended 145-day stay.

The incident came to light on August 30th when a video showing the room's condition began circulating online. The footage revealed a scene of absolute chaos, with the entire space buried under mountains of snack wrappers, takeaway containers, and scattered personal belongings. Even the gaps on the shelves were crammed with used tissues, leaving virtually no floor space visible.

According to hotel staff, the guests were a couple born in the 2000s. During their lengthy stay, the pair refused to allow housekeeping to clean the room or even open the door for routine checks, citing inconvenience. The management only discovered the extent of the mess when they finally gained access.

While the property damage and hygiene concerns were significant, the hotel chose not to involve the police. Staff explained that the couple's outstanding balance was minimal, amounting to just two days of unpaid room charges, which made the situation not worth escalating to law enforcement.
