As corn enters its critical mature harvest window, recently, the general party branch of Diankeng Village in Jiujia Town proactively took responsibility and quickly mobilized efforts to address the urgent harvest difficulties faced by farmers in need. The goal was to minimize agricultural production losses to the greatest extent possible.
The village's two committee cadres, resident work team, and party member volunteers organized a heartwarming volunteer rush-harvest service activity during household visits and inspections. Through practical actions to fulfill their original mission, the warmth and care of party organizations was delivered directly into the hearts of the masses.
During routine visits, the village cadres learned that a local villager, Chang Zhengjun, had suddenly encountered a family misfortune that left the household in difficulty. As the main labor force, Chang Zhengjun was unfortunately injured while working in the fields and suffered a severe spinal injury leading to paralysis. He is currently in the ICU receiving urgent treatment, critically ill and not yet out of danger. This sudden change for the family's breadwinner has left the household without any labor support.
Coinciding with the crucial autumn harvest season, Chang Zhengjun's large tracts of corn had fully matured and urgently needed to be gathered and stored. With no labor available to work the land, the mature corn remained in the fields. If the optimal harvest period was missed, problems such as mold and lodging could easily occur, facing risks of reduced or even zero yields.
When the people face difficulties, we take action. To seize the farming opportunity and relieve the farming community's distress, the general party branch of Diankeng Village promptly coordinated and assembled volunteer forces at the first opportunity. Party member cadres and volunteers were organized to rush to the fields to carry out obligatory rush-harvest assistance work, fully safeguarding bumper harvests for the struggling farming households.
The rush-harvest scene was filled with warmth and high spirits. The party member volunteers had clear divisions of labor and cooperated seamlessly, efficiently completing tasks such as picking corn ears, bagging, hauling, and loading. After six consecutive hours of hard work, the volunteer service team successfully harvested more than 800 kilograms of corn for Chang Zhengjun's household.
Currently, all the harvested corn has completed the drying and storage process, firmly securing the farmer's year-long labor results. This effectively avoided crop reduction losses and genuinely resolved the household's urgent autumn harvest concerns.
"As long as the masses have needs, party organizations and party members will step forward and charge ahead at the first moment," stated the party branch secretary of Diankeng Village. The village party organization will continue to focus on the actual needs of this struggling family, regularly follow up on difficulties such as medical treatment, livelihood security, and children's education, implement precise assistance measures, and provide all-around support to help the family overcome their difficulties.
