China Communications Construction Group recently signed the contract for Kuwait's Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port Phase I EPC project on Bubiyan Island, marking a new stage of comprehensive implementation for port cooperation between China and Kuwait under the Belt and Road Initiative framework.

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group's automated container terminal simulation consulting and testing team provided digital decision-making support and simulation verification for the project's cargo handling process plan using their "Terminal Handling Process Simulation Consulting" technology, demonstrating the robust capabilities of Chinese intelligent manufacturing in the high-end port engineering sector.

The Kuwait Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project is a crucial component of Kuwait's Northern Economic Zone. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance Kuwait's port throughput capacity and logistics efficiency, providing vital support for Kuwait's "Vision 2035" and promoting economic diversification.

During the project planning phase, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group's automated container terminal simulation consulting and testing team utilized high-precision simulation technology to conduct "digital rehearsals," laying a solid technical foundation for the project.

The team conducted multiple rounds of simulations and evaluations focusing on key aspects such as system operational capacity, equipment allocation ratios, traffic organization, handling process flows, and AGV charging strategies, precisely verifying the feasibility of the plan while providing optimization recommendations.

This approach reduced implementation risks from the source and enhanced overall operational efficiency. The ZPMC SmartSim simulation software adopted for the project is a container terminal lifecycle 3D dynamic virtual simulation software independently developed by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group.

Based on the company's extensive expertise in automated equipment, intelligent control, and systems engineering, the software achieves digital mapping and modular encapsulation of core elements including handling equipment, transport vehicles, and scheduling strategies.

While improving simulation accuracy, it can rapidly respond to diverse requirements. The software not only possesses high-precision simulation capabilities but also seamlessly interfaces with terminal management and control systems, supporting operational plan rehearsals and efficiency analysis.

It provides integrated digital support for terminal planning, operation, and optimization. To date, the company has provided handling process simulation consulting services for over 50 terminals worldwide using the ZPMC SmartSim software, covering regions including Asia, Europe, and Africa.

This digital approach empowers port operational upgrades. In the future, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Group will continue to deepen its research and development in port handling process simulation technology, driving port intelligent and green upgrades through digital innovation.

Within the Belt and Road construction framework, the company will contribute China's independent and controllable intelligent port technology with robust technical capabilities and high-quality solutions for long-term development.
