National Bureau of Statistics Reports 16.9% Year-on-Year Growth in High-Tech Manufacturing Value-Added for July

The National Bureau of Statistics has released data for July, indicating a significant acceleration in the growth of China's high-tech manufacturing sector, with a clear focus on high-quality development.

Figures released on August 17 show that the value-added output of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above a designated size increased by 16.9% year-on-year in July, a notable acceleration of 2.8 percentage points compared to the previous month.

A breakdown by industry reveals robust performance in several key sectors. The value-added output for the integrated circuit manufacturing industry surged by 109.3%, followed by aircraft manufacturing at 38.3%, specialized equipment manufacturing for the electronics industry at 34.8%, and specialized electronic materials manufacturing at 30.8%.

From a product perspective, the growth is being driven by the boom in artificial intelligence. Production of sensors rose by 35.3%, memory chips by 30.2%, electronic components by 23.4%, and optical fibers by 21.1%. The rapid development of the robotics sector also contributed, with output of industrial robots increasing by 30.2% and robot reducers by 22.7%.
