METIS TECHBIO-P (07666) announced today the formal signing of a comprehensive strategic technology cooperation agreement with Sandstone Biotech, a company in tumor immunocellular therapy. The collaboration will focus on immune-targeted lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technology, jointly advancing the research, development, and translation of next-generation in vivo immunotherapy products. This partnership leverages METIS TECHBIO-P's self-developed NanoForge, the world's first AI-powered nanodelivery platform, marking another significant milestone for the platform's OpenCGT initiative. To date, utilizing NanoForge, METIS TECHBIO-P has achieved precise targeted delivery to eight key human organs and tissues. Its pipeline covers multiple areas including oncology, immune system disorders, central nervous system, respiratory system, cardiovascular diseases, muscular and metabolic diseases. The company has submitted 224 patent applications and holds 52 granted patents. The OpenCGT project was launched by METIS TECHBIO-P in 2025, aiming to open access to the AiLNP capabilities within the NanoForge platform, empowering global partners to accelerate innovation and translation in the cell and gene therapy (CGT) field. The platform focuses on tissue and cell-targeted delivery, mRNA and gene-editing drug development, and next-generation in vivo immunotherapy, dedicated to building a global open AI + nucleic acid drug innovation infrastructure. Since its inception, the OpenCGT project has established technical collaborations with several benchmark companies in the CGT sector, including RightGene, Jingtong Life, Sandstone Biotech, the industrial platform under COFCO Group's Joy City Holdings, Biothunder AG, and Aicogen Therapeutics. These collaborations cover key areas such as cell therapy, gene therapy, fibrotic cell reprogramming, and in vivo immunotherapy. Cooperation models include research collaboration, joint development, and delivery technology licensing, involving commercial arrangements such as upfront payments, milestone payments, and sales royalties. The cumulative total value of these collaborations has exceeded RMB 60 billion. Dr. Lai Caida, Chairman and CEO of METIS TECHBIO-P, stated that using AI innovation to solve nanodelivery challenges is the company's mission, and the OpenCGT project empowered by the NanoForge platform is becoming a significant force in advancing cell and gene therapy. Dr. Liu Yarong, Founder and CEO of Sandstone Biotech, noted that efficient and precise delivery systems are core infrastructure for in vivo immunotherapy, and looks forward to combining the strengths of both parties to break through the limitations of traditional cell therapy in manufacturing, cost, and accessibility.
