Kinergy’s 1H 2026 Revenue Jumps 28%, Loss Narrows as EMS Demand Rebounds

Kinergy Corporation Ltd. released its unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, showing a sharp rebound in topline growth driven by Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) while net losses narrowed year-on-year.

Financial Highlights • Revenue grew 28.3 % to S$64.50 million (1H 2025: S$50.28 million), fuelled by a 34.0 % rise in EMS sales, which contributed 98.1 % of total turnover. • Gross profit increased 53.3 % to S$6.89 million, lifting gross margin to 10.7 % from 9.0 % a year earlier. • Net loss after tax reduced to S$1.80 million from S$3.44 million; basic loss per share improved to ­0.16 Singapore cents (1H 2025: ­0.41 Singapore cents). • Operating cash outflow was minimal at S$0.01 million; cash and cash equivalents rose to S$18.94 million (FY-end 2025: S$17.33 million). • Net current assets strengthened to S$32.43 million (FY-end 2025: S$27.27 million). • Gearing ratio eased slightly to 0.31, with net debt-to-equity at 0.11. • The Board declared no interim dividend.

Segment Performance • EMS: Revenue S$63.25 million, up 34.0 %, reflecting higher volumes from the largest customer. • ODM: Revenue S$0.73 million, down 60.5 % on reduced customer demand; division targets breakeven for full-year 2026. • Investment: Management-fee income fell 56.7 % to S$0.52 million as one fund reached end of life in March 2026; Shanghai GenLight managed seven funds with S$151.70 million AUM at period-end.

Cost and Profitability Drivers Cost of sales rose 25.9 % to S$57.61 million, broadly tracking revenue growth. Other gains and losses swung to a S$2.80 million loss (1H 2025: S$0.14 million loss) due mainly to a S$1.70 million foreign-exchange deficit and a S$1.00 million fair-value loss on investment securities. Sales and marketing expenses declined 18.0 % to S$1.22 million on lower commissions.

Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Capital expenditure was limited to S$0.29 million. Net cash inflow from investing activities of S$5.45 million primarily reflected S$6.35 million of proceeds from investment-security disposals. Financing outflows of S$3.37 million included S$15.00 million of bank-loan repayments partly offset by S$13.75 million of new borrowings.

Order Book and Outlook Delivered revenue and outstanding purchase orders totalled approximately S$202.10 million as at 11 August 2026, with S$65.40 million slated for delivery by end-FY 2027. Management highlighted robust semiconductor demand—particularly in storage and AI chips—and reiterated focus on materials pricing, quality, and cost efficiency. Kinergy projects a return to profitability for the full year ending 31 December 2026.

Capital Management and Share Options As at mid-year, 68.08 million share options (7.40 % of issued shares) remained available for grant under the company’s share option scheme. During the half, 7.72 million options were issued to senior management; 7.31 million options lapsed following grantee departures.

Governance and Dividends The company reported full compliance with Hong Kong’s Corporate Governance Code, noted no material post-period events, and confirmed no purchases or redemptions of its listed securities during the half. The Board did not recommend an interim dividend.
