On Tuesday, Vistra Energy (VST.US) shares climbed 9% to $157.94.

The rally followed news that on October 5, the U.S. Department of Energy issued a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to Vistra, aimed at upgrading three nuclear facilities: Beaver Valley, Davis-Besse, and Perry.

The plan is set to add 433 megawatts of generating capacity while maintaining nearly 4 gigawatts of baseload power supply.
