According to reports from Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency citing the governor of Asaluyeh Province, several sections of the South Pars natural gas field have been taken offline following an attack to prevent the spread of fire.
Firefighting teams are currently working to extinguish the blaze.
This marks the first time that upstream oil and gas facilities have been targeted by US and Israeli strikes, with Iran stating that its critical South Pars resources have come under air attack.
