According to the latest research by TrendForce, driven by strong gaming demand and active promotion by panel manufacturers and brand vendors, OLED display shipments are expected to see comprehensive growth across all regions in 2025. However, due to changes in the international landscape, Europe's market share is projected to rise to match North America's level, while China's market share is also expected to increase to over 20%.
TrendForce estimates that OLED display shipments will reach 2.66 million units in 2025, representing an 86% year-over-year increase, with a penetration rate of approximately 2% in overall display shipments. The growth momentum is expected to continue in the coming years, with the penetration rate potentially rising to 5% by 2028.
The primary markets for OLED displays include North America, Europe, and China, which collectively account for over 80% of total shipments. Although OLED displays are priced higher than LCD displays, consumers in these three regions possess sufficient purchasing power and represent a large population base, making them the main markets for OLED displays.
In 2024, as brand manufacturers focused on North America as a key development region for OLED displays, North America's shipment share reached 44%, the highest globally. Due to significant uncertainties brought by the international situation in 2025, brands are expected to diversify risks by working to increase shipment proportions in European and Chinese markets, which will cause North America's shipment share to decline to 33%.
With various gaming brands strengthening marketing and promotion efforts, Europe's OLED display shipment share is expected to increase from 28% in 2024 to 33% in 2025. The Chinese market similarly demonstrates strong gaming demand, and with internet cafes continuing to upgrade to high-specification displays in recent years, this provides significant development potential for OLED products positioned in the high-end market.
Therefore, TrendForce expects that China's OLED display shipment share has the opportunity for continued expansion, growing from 14% in 2024 to 21% in 2025.
