China's Alibaba on Monday unveiled what it said is its largest and most capable artificial-intelligence model, the Qwen3.8-Max, which is not far behind in size when compared with an offering from domestic rival Moonshot AI launched last month. Alibaba up 4%.
Italian cable maker Prysmian PRY.MI said on Monday it agreed to acquire U.S.-based electrical products maker Atkore ATKR.N for $95 per share in cash, giving the company an implied enterprise value of around $3.8 billion. Atkore shares soared 25% in premarket trading.
AstraZeneca PLC and Bristol-Myers Squibb held preliminary discussions about a possible combination that would create one of the world's biggest pharmaceutical companies with a combined value of nearly $400 billion, according to a person familiar with the situation. Bristol-Myers Squibb up 6% while AstraZeneca PLC down 6%.
Palantir Technologies Inc. rose 2%. The company is slated to report quarterly results today.
