Stock Track | GIGADEVICE Plummets 8.71% Intraday as Semiconductor Sector Slumps and China Life Divestment Overhang Persists

GIGADEVICE shares tumbled 8.71% during intraday trading on Monday, adding to a steep decline that has now seen the stock retreat more than 50% from its high reached last month.

The sell-off came amid broad-based weakness across the semiconductor sector, with peers such as HUA HONG GRACE, MONTAGE TECH, BIREN TECH, and ILUVATAR COREX all posting significant losses. The widespread pressure reflected souring investor sentiment toward chip stocks in the session.

Additionally, the overhang from China Life's recent divestment continued to weigh on GIGADEVICE. Eight asset management plans under China Life collectively sold approximately 1.1097 million shares on July 8, realizing proceeds of roughly RMB 682 million. Market debate persists over whether the reduction signals routine portfolio rebalancing or serves as a valuation warning for the memory chip leader, suppressing near-term sentiment and contributing to the sharp intraday drop.
