During the 2026 (9th) Gansu Media Convergence Innovation and Development Forum, Zhang Jing, Chief Engineer of the New Media Group, officially unveiled the integrated technical support platform for Gansu Daily and the Newspaper Group. The announcement was reported by New Gansu Client on September 22, with journalists Wang Dengke and Zhao Xinyuan covering the event.

"A unified technical platform serves as the foundation, enabling more efficient, collaborative, and intelligent content production," Zhang stated during the forum, which carried the theme "Convergence and Innovation." The platform's launch marks a pivotal step in streamlining the entire content lifecycle—from planning, gathering, editing, and reviewing to publishing and evaluation—while achieving comprehensive coverage across all distribution channels for Gansu Daily and Gansu Daily Newspaper Group. This integration facilitates seamless data flow and service connectivity throughout the organization.

Since going live, the platform has been instrumental in resolving long-standing pain points such as frequent system switching and cumbersome workflows. It now supports unified production and publishing of multimedia content—including text, images, audio, video, and live streaming—with AI transitioning from a mere assistive tool to fundamental infrastructure embedded throughout the planning, gathering, editing, reviewing, and publishing processes. To address the previous shortcomings in video production capabilities, the integrated platform offers a full-chain video workflow that enables multi-user collaborative editing, division of labor in creation, and one-click return of finished footage, thereby substantially boosting video production efficiency. Additionally, the deployment of multimodal intelligent review functions enhances human-machine collaboration, further solidifying the ideological security line of defense.

According to official sources, the integrated technical support platform adheres to the same architectural logic—"one foundation, one system"—as the "New Gansu Cloud," which has been operational for eight years. Beyond serving the internal editorial process reengineering of Gansu Daily and its Newspaper Group, the platform will also empower all county-level and municipal-level media convergence centers across the province through the provincial-level "New Gansu Cloud" technology, positioning itself as a hub for aggregating and integrating media at the provincial, municipal, and county tiers.

In recent years, Gansu Daily and the Newspaper Group have persisted in independent research and development, creating 11 intelligent agents—including stylized text generation, weather alert processing, express article delivery, and rapid manuscript editing—with plans to deploy another batch of intelligent agents by year-end, ensuring the platform's capabilities evolve in tandem with business needs. Zhang Jing emphasized that "the goal of technology is to serve content, empower communication, and create value," pledging continuous iteration to enhance the platform's intelligence, collaboration, and service capabilities. He called on media colleagues across the province to foster an ecosystem driven by the platform, embracing convergence to chart a new chapter in Gansu's high-quality media development.
