据一份内部备忘录显示，山姆会员店首席执行官拉特里斯·沃特金斯表示，马歇尔“已做出离开山姆会员店的个人决定”。自今年二月新任沃尔玛首席执行官约翰·弗纳上任以来，公司已出现多起高管离职事件，其中包括前国际业务首席执行官凯斯·麦克雷、山姆会员店前首席运营官汤姆·沃德，以及沃尔玛门店运营负责人塞德里克·克拉克。
马歇尔于2005年以产品补货团队培训生身份加入沃尔玛，其职业生涯贯穿了公司多个重要发展阶段。此次离职标志着沃尔玛在新领导层带领下正在进行的管理团队重组仍在继续。
