亚马逊创始人杰夫·贝索斯表示，对人工智能将摧毁经济中大量工作岗位的担忧被过分夸大了。他预测，人工智能将极大提升生产力，并提高生活水平。
贝索斯周三在接受CNBC采访时指出，目前流行的认为人工智能对就业构成威胁、尤其是对年轻人就业构成威胁的观点是缺乏充分依据的。他提到，近期在毕业典礼演讲中向谷歌首席执行官埃里克·施密特发出嘘声的毕业生们之所以有如此反应，是因为他们不断被告知自己的工作将被人工智能取代。
“而实际上将要发生的是，人工智能将提升所有这些人的能力，”贝索斯说。
贝索斯预测，人工智能工具将辅助人类工作，生产力的提高将带来工资上涨，这可能使一些双职工家庭选择转为单职工家庭。他还表示，人工智能带来的生产力提升也将推动通货紧缩，从而降低食品和建筑成本。
