Unimicron Technology's board approved on Tuesday (October 28) a proposal for its subsidiary Suzhou Qunce Technology to apply for a listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The plan is expected to be submitted for discussion at the 2026 shareholders' meeting. The listing entity will be Unimicron's Suzhou-based Qunce Technology, which operates ABF and BT substrate factories, with Unimicron holding an 86% stake. The estimated listing timeline is 2027.

Suzhou Qunce Technology aims to enhance global competitiveness, attract top talent, and expand its mainland China market presence through the Hong Kong listing. Post-listing, the company plans to leverage the Hong Kong exchange's international capital platform for diversified fundraising to strengthen its financial structure, improve funding flexibility, and accelerate Unimicron's global and mainland China expansion. The move is also expected to boost corporate visibility, attract skilled professionals, and improve employee retention.

Additionally, the listing will enhance Suzhou Qunce's independent innovation capabilities and operational competitiveness while increasing net profit attributable to Unimicron as the parent company, ultimately benefiting shareholder equity.

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Unimicron is a world-leading supplier of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and IC substrates under United Microelectronics Corporation's enterprise group. The company operates across three divisions: PCB, substrate, and IC foundry burn-in testing, with 10 fabs, four HDI plants, five substrate plants, and one IC burn-in/testing facility in Taiwan, plus four production bases in Shenzhen, Kunshan, and Suzhou in mainland China.

Unimicron specializes in advanced mobile HDI boards and IC packaging substrates, while actively developing flexible and rigid-flex boards. After merging with Taiwan's CMC in 2009, it became the world's largest PCB supplier, offering high-end products for information, communication, and consumer electronics.

Suzhou Qunce Technology, Unimicron's production base in Suzhou, primarily manufactures IC substrates such as FCBOC, FCCSP, CSP, BOC, and MMC. Its products are widely used in 3C consumer electronics, serving clients across mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.S., and Europe.
