Fervo Energy Co. (FRVO) shares surged 7.12% during intraday trading on Wednesday, extending earlier pre-market gains, after the company reported its second-quarter financial results and provided a bullish operational update.

While the company posted a quarterly loss that missed analyst estimates, investors cheered the improved operational metrics and forward-looking guidance. Fervo raised its long-term development target to 1.1 gigawatts by 2030, achieved mechanical completion on key phases of its Cape Station project, and set a new drilling record with its Sawtooth 7 well. The company also reiterated its expectation for capital expenditures of $850 million to $900 million in the second half of 2026, reflecting continued investment in its geothermal pipeline.

CEO Tim Latimer highlighted that demand for firm, carbon-free power has never been stronger, and the company's commercial pipeline is converting its extensive resource portfolio into shovel-ready capacity. The market's positive reaction suggests investors are focusing on Fervo's growth trajectory and operational execution rather than the near-term earnings miss.
