ASMPT 1H26: Revenue Surges 42.5 % to HK$8.90 Billion, Adjusted EPS HK$2.34 on AI-Driven Bookings; Interim Dividend Quadrupled

ASMPT reported robust unaudited interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, powered by persistent AI infrastructure build-outs and advanced packaging demand.

Revenue and Earnings • Group revenue from continuing operations reached HK$8.90 billion, up 42.5 % year-on-year (YoY) and 18.9 % half-on-half (HoH). • Adjusted net profit rose 230.5 % YoY to HK$972.70 million; adjusted earnings per share (EPS) climbed to HK$2.34. • Statutory net profit, including a HK$158.16 million loss from the divested NEXX business, was HK$583.48 million, up 169.0 % YoY.

Margins and Cash • Group adjusted gross margin improved 0.86 percentage points YoY to 41.2 %; HoH expansion was 4.41 percentage points. • Adjusted operating profit jumped 195.6 % YoY to HK$1.24 billion. • Cash and bank deposits stood at HK$5.88 billion; net cash was HK$3.63 billion, while the debt-to-equity ratio eased to 0.13.

Bookings Momentum • 1H26 bookings hit HK$12.75 billion, up 85.1 % YoY; the book-to-bill ratio reached 1.43, the highest since 1H21. • Q2 bookings alone rose 97.6 % YoY to HK$7.08 billion, underpinned by record orders in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and a doubling of Semiconductor Advanced Packaging (SEMI AP) orders.

Segment Performance • Semiconductor Solutions (SEMI): Revenue advanced 35.3 % YoY to HK$5.04 billion; adjusted segment margin widened to 18.1 %. Photonics, Thermo Compression Bonding (TCB) and wire/die bonders led growth. • SMT Solutions: Revenue expanded 53.1 % YoY to HK$3.87 billion; adjusted segment margin improved to 11.0 %. AI server demand drove record bookings of HK$6.98 billion.

Advanced Packaging Highlights • Advanced Packaging revenue reached US$339.0 million, accounting for 30 % of group revenue and rising 17 % YoY. • Photonics transceiver solutions revenue almost tripled YoY to about US$75 million amid accelerating 800G and higher bandwidth ramps. • TCB tool demand remained strong, boosted by bulk orders exceeding 50 units in July from OSAT partners.

Dividend • The board declared an interim dividend of HK$0.97 per share (1H25: HK$0.26), payable on or about 31 August 2026 to shareholders on record as of 17 August 2026.

Guidance • Q3 2026 revenue is projected at US$630 million–US$690 million (mid-point: +4.8 % QoQ, +46.3 % YoY). • Management anticipates high-single-digit sequential growth in bookings, led by TCB and Photonics, while noting longer lead times for selected materials.

Strategic Investments • R&D outlay remained substantial at HK$1.00 billion, supporting over 1,800 patents and continued product innovation across global centers. • Capital additions totaled HK$138.60 million, fully funded by operating cash flow.

Corporate Actions • Disposal of ASMPT NEXX closed on 3 June 2026, removing its financials from consolidation and triggering a HK$13.72 million disposal gain (excluded from adjusted results). • Loss on deemed disposal of subsidiary SWAT and a small impairment at a Beijing unit were taken in 1H26 but excluded from adjusted metrics.

Governance ASMPT confirmed full compliance with the Hong Kong Listing Rules’ Corporate Governance Code during the period, and its Audit Committee has reviewed the interim financials alongside the external auditor.
