从4月2日起，没有联合大陆航空信用卡或借记卡的旅客积累里程的速度将明显放缓。根据新规，持卡旅客每消费1美元可获得相当于非持卡旅客两倍的飞行里程，同时在使用里程兑换机票时享受至少10%的折扣。
联合大陆航空周四宣布，非持卡用户购买基础经济舱机票将不再累积里程。这一政策调整是航空业提升客户忠诚度战略的组成部分，旨在推动更多乘客使用航空公司联名信用卡购票——在利润微薄的航空业，这类联名卡已成为重要利润来源。
"前程万里常客计划旨在奖励对联合航空的忠诚度，我们最优质的客户理应获得行业最佳的权益。"联合大陆航空首席商务官安德鲁·诺塞拉表示。
值得注意的是，持卡用户还将获得北极星商务舱"超值奖励"座位的使用权，这是该舱等最低价的奖励机票。此前这类座位仅向常旅客计划的高级别会员开放。
政策公布后，联合大陆航空股价在周四早盘交易中下跌4%。
