The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference and the inaugural Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo took place from October 16 to 18 in the Expo Park of Huangpu District, Shanghai.

Wang Wei, COO of Weibo, CEO of Sina Mobile, and chairman of the Weibo Technology Committee, attended the forum and hosted the discussion session titled "The Next Stop in AI Transformation." He joined prominent figures including Matthew Cobb, honorary professor at the University of Manchester and author of "The Smarter Brain"; Mato Nussdorfer, dean of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management and co-founder of Luxembourg Business School; Edie, Senior Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Perfect World Group; and Liang Yu, partner at Genesis Partners, to explore core topics such as the integration of AI with industries, future directions, and the construction of a global AI ecosystem.

Wang Wei highlighted the current backdrop of AI development, noting that since the emergence of large language models in early 2023, AI applications have entered a new phase, with new models and applications continuously emerging, gradually shifting from research and development to industrial application.

He emphasized the need for a calm examination of two key questions amidst the AI boom: "How can AI truly integrate into industries to create value?" and "What kind of future will AI lead humanity towards?"

According to Wang Wei, a prominent feature of the AI wave, which has evolved from deep learning technologies, is the "lack of interpretability" in decision-making outcomes. "We do not fully understand why AI arrives at certain decisions, which indeed poses a challenge for AI technology," he stated.

In conclusion, Wang Wei underscored that a healthy AI ecosystem relies on five essential elements: technological breakthroughs, business acumen, ethical constraints, educational innovation, and global collaboration.

The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference is co-hosted by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, with the Beijing office of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS Foundation) as a co-organizer. The event is organized by Sina Finance in cooperation with the Beijing representative office of the World Green Design Organization, and supported by the People's Government of Huangpu District, Shanghai.
