On August 14th, the world's first comprehensive large-scale competition featuring humanoid robots as core participants - the World Humanoid Robot Games - opened grandly at the National Speed Skating Oval "Ice Ribbon." 280 participating teams from 16 countries gathered in Beijing for three days from August 15th to 17th, competing in 487 matches across 26 events including competitive races, performance competitions, scenario contests, and peripheral events, comprehensively showcasing cutting-edge achievements of humanoid robots in intelligent decision-making and motion coordination.
As a key participant and industry promoter of this event, SHOUCHENG (0697.HK) not only provided robot hardware equipment support for the competition but also dedicated efforts to creating a "SHOUCHENG Robot Technology Experience Store" open to the public outside the National Speed Skating Oval venue. Through immersive interactive exhibitions, it constructs a practical pathway for robots to transition from technology to market.
The SHOUCHENG Robot Technology Experience Store covers nearly 200 square meters, bringing together over 200 robots and intelligent products from ecosystem partner companies including Unitree Technology, Xinghaitu, Galaxy General, and Songyan Power, covering multiple fields such as smart home, children's education, AI entertainment, intelligent wearables, and outdoor sports.
In recent years, SHOUCHENG has continuously built a robot industry support system covering investment, technology implementation, and ecosystem services around its core strategy of "capital operation + asset integration." Through the Beijing Robot Industry Development Investment Fund and multiple industry funds under its management, SHOUCHENG has completed investment layouts in dozens of robot innovation companies including Unitree Technology and Galaxy General, focusing on cutting-edge directions such as embodied intelligence, industrial automation, surgical robots, and AI perception and decision systems.
From investing in robots to opening robot "pop-up stores," during an on-site media interview, Ye Qian, Executive Committee member and Co-President of SHOUCHENG, stated that all products displayed have certain technical capabilities and broadly belong to the robot category. For example, AI traditional Chinese medicine consultation equipment can analyze users' conditions through facial analysis; embodied intelligent chassis combined with large model capabilities also demonstrate the core "brain" capabilities of robots. Robots can be form displays, product forms, or composite forms combining hardware and AI.
"We hope through this display to let everyone feel that robots are getting closer and closer to life," Ye Qian said. "The World Humanoid Robot Games venue mainly showcases robots' athletic and collaborative abilities in professional fields, while our robot technology experience store outside the National Speed Skating Oval aims to bridge the distance between robot technology and the public through forms that are closer to life and real scenarios. Therefore, we position this experience store as a window for robot technology to enter daily life, with product selection and route design following this overarching logic."
Ye Qian gave examples, such as Songyan Power representatives in the ecosystem enterprise exhibition area displaying the latest humanoid robots with 32 degrees of freedom capable of making 200 micro-expressions. This robot can perform various actions including opening mouth, shaking head, blinking, and swaying left and right through facial recognition, demonstrating the cutting-edge capabilities of current AI large models combined with robot forms. This area is currently one of the most experienced areas by visitors.
The children's experience area features various interactive projects such as Talking Tom Cat, Carrot Chess robots, and companion robots, aimed at attracting family units, especially children, to participate in interactions. The floor-cleaning robot area has the strongest experience and longest queues in the entire experience store, occupying the largest floor space.
Regarding specific subdivision application scenarios, Ye Qian supplemented that exoskeleton robots were initially used in medical rehabilitation scenarios to help disabled people move. Now they are gradually being applied in outdoor scenarios such as scenic areas, for example, reducing physical consumption when climbing mountains. To let audiences better experience the assistive effects of exoskeletons, the exhibition area features treadmills and bicycles, simulating their applications in real sports scenarios.
Additionally, it was introduced that AI companion robot products achieved sales of over 30 million yen in 24 hours during the pre-sale phase in Japan, planned to launch on Double Eleven, with currently good feedback from overseas markets. The robotic arm's automatic grasping and placement capabilities demonstrate robots' autonomous visual navigation technology in precision operations, with on-site audiences seeing that robots not only have "feet" and "faces" but also "hand" capabilities.
In the video interaction area, through robots learning to play musical instruments and achieving human-robot interactive performances with bands, robots can learn to play a song within two days.
It is reported that the SHOUCHENG Robot Technology Experience Store will operate long-term in the future. The first store is located at Beijing Rongshi Plaza, expected to officially open within 2025. This will become an important platform for SHOUCHENG to verify market acceptance of invested companies' products and serve as a display and transaction hub connecting B-end, C-end, and G-end demands.
